Kirkland Reads is a program helping connect the residents or Kirkland through inclusive and welcoming conversations about Spare Parts: Four Undocumented Teenagers, one Ugly Robot, and the Battle for the American Dream.
I was tasked with creating a logo that would fit a tradition of Kirkland landmark based iconography while appealing to various age ranges and backgrounds. As well as a library reading program.
A custom logotype was built to fit with the illustration style, while including the local pagoda landmark, the waterfront, and a book rising over the pagoda like a sunrise.
The other piece was a poster (right) which features custom illustration based on the two book covers 'Spare Parts' has, the original (below) and the cover based on the film poster.
